On 15th August 1979, India celebrated its 33rd Independence Day. In his message as the Prime Minister, Shri Charan Singh touched upon various issues of national importance, ranging from price rise to unemployment, corruption and sustained neglect of agriculture. He affirmed his belief in Gandhian way of living.
